Cancer research

Two of the UK’s 32 Cancer Research Networks (CRNs) are located in the region served by Anglia Cancer Network. These are the West Anglia CRN (covering Bedford, Cambridge, Hinchingbrooke, Kings Lynn, Papworth, Peterborough and West Suffolk hospitals) and the Anglia East CRN (covering Norfolk and Norwich, James Paget and Ipswich hospitals).

Many of the policy and organisational aspects of these two CRNs are shared, allowing a seamless approach to organising cancer research across the region. Our vision is that as standard practice cancer patients in the Anglia Region should, wherever feasible, be offered participation in clinical studies, provided a suitable study exists, eligibility criteria can be met and the patient wishes to take part. For further details on how to get involved or find out about trials available in Anglia read our new patient leaflet 'Clinical Trials and Research across the Anglia Region' or select ‘Getting involved in clinical trials’ from the navigation menu on the left.
