Our Strategy

The Anglia Cancer Network agreed its strategy “Aiming High World-Class treatment, care and support for cancer patients in Anglia” at the Board meeting in April 2012.

The key elements of the strategy include:

i) To reduce premature mortality from cancer by raising public awareness and improving early diagnosis of cancer and by ensuring our services are compliant with NICE guidance.

ii) To improve the quality of life for patients living with and beyond cancer by providing them with the tools and knowledge to be equal parties in managing their own conditions.

iii) To improve recovery from cancer-related episodes of ill health, by developing services in the community closer to patients’ own homes and by improving our rehabilitation services.

iv) To improve patients’ experience of cancer care by listening and acting on the views of our patients and carers and by investing in training for our staff.

v) To improve patient safety by reviewing our radiology and chemotherapy services and by ensuring that issues raised at Peer Review are promptly addressed.
